How SunSpark Began
SunSpark Camp was founded in 1998 by a group of educators and outdoor enthusiasts who believed every child deserves a summer filled with adventure, discovery, and genuine connection. What started as a small lakeside program for 40 campers has grown into a beloved community welcoming over 600 children each season.
Our founders were driven by a simple conviction: the best learning happens outside the classroom. By combining structured skill-building with unstructured free play, we help children develop resilience, creativity, and the kind of self-confidence that lasts well beyond the summer months.
Today, SunSpark spans 120 acres of forest, meadow, and waterfront. Our staff — many of whom were campers themselves — bring passion, expertise, and genuine care to every activity, every meal, and every campfire story.
